What did the polls do when Geraldine Ferraro was picked as VP?

What did the polls do when Geraldine Ferraro was picked as VP?
I know Mondale ended up losing in a landslide which only goes to show how insignificant the VP is in the end.

I remember my sister being extremely excited about Ferraro and she had voted Republican before that.

...combined to put Mondale ahead of Reagan by about two points.

It was the only lead he held the entire election.

3. Immediately after the Democratic convention, Newsweek-Gallup had Mondale over Reagan 48-46.
Ferraro was announced just days before the convention. Before that, Mondale had trailed badly.

Of course, that convention bounced faded away quickly.
