Steve "A**#$@" Schmidt : Media is easy to manipulate
I've been trying to push the only effective criticism of Palin/McCain unsuccesfully here -- that the vetting should have led to a Press Release about the Pregnant Child, and that not doing so fed the so-called OUTRAGE the pussy Right is having right now, and which is getting them a free pass.

My hypothesis was weak because I didn't have anything to back it up, but its clearer now ... look at the article and line below

http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/09/07/america/schmidt.php?page=2
This new environment, he has told friends, is easily manipulated because of round-the-clock thirst for news, increased competition, lowered standards created by the proliferation of outlets and hunger for the outrageous.

THEY KNEW NOT ANNOUCNING THE PREGNANCY WOULD LEAD TO THIS. THEY CREATED THIS MESS.

This is what every "analyst" or press person for the Dems should have been saying since Monday. They lost all of this precious time and could HAVE KILLED ANY BUMP IN THE POLL.

4. There are no major events until the debates.
So, there is no taking the spotlight back.

3. Riiiiiiight...McSameis an agent of change...with a Rove clone running his campaign

And the catalyst for the change has largely been Schmidt, 37, a veteran of the winning 2002 congressional and 2004 presidential campaigns, where he worked closely with Karl Rove, then Bush's senior strategist.

5. It's Not Manipulation OF the Media, It is a Conspiracy WITH the Media
The MSM, all of it, is working to put McAin't in the White House.
Everything they do in connection with the election is to that end.
