How to protect your lawn signs
I learned this when my X was harassing me. Put Vaseline up and down the poles so when they grab them they will slip and not be able to put them out.

Or you can put some greasy black stuff, (can't remember the name) on the poles.

You wear gloves and have towels to clean off your hands with but they are going to be stuck with gunk all over them!

:)

2. I saw one pic of a sign that says "We donate more to Democrats every time you steal our signs!"
"Thanks for your support!"

Put a sign out like that. An excellent deterrent.

No Republican asshole wants to be directly responsible for another person giving their money to Obama. As long as they can read, your signs will be safe.

3. I used cayenne pepper
I put a thin layer of glue around the perimeter of the signs, and all along the post, then sprinkled cayenne pepper all over them. I'm not sure it works, but it makes me smile to think of a sign-stealer with very painful eyes. ;)

6. Deposits of dog doo in the grass around the signs.
Well if the grass is tall enough...ok so placing these booby traps might be problematic BUT the thoughts of a thief getting into his car smelling like dog-crap might make it all worth it!

7. I was thinking more of an obscured fire hose, triggered by a trip wire.
;-)
