Character issues win modern presidential elections
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 03:28 AM by wolverinez
Nothing puts people to sleep faster than rattling off issue detail after issue detail.

1. Talk about the economy always, but use media friendly soundbytes. McCain's " I don't know how many houses I own" gaffe is a perfect example of something you keep replaying. "McSame" is another. Endlesslly repeat how Bush and McCain are the same. *endlesslly* until you yourself are sick of it.
2. Attack the opponent on character early and often. Challenge McCain's temperment and judgement. Leak out that he carves his own initials into his fireplace(elitism).Say the world "Republican" and "extremist" early and often. Label Palin as an extremist (she is) by using the available tools such as this video that shows ariel killing of wolves by Alaska Wildlife OFficials under her orders:

3. Message management is more important in presidential elections, more important than ground game.
4. Answer attacks with your own attacks, not explanations that knock you off message.

The Obama campaign has a gigantic war chest with which it can completely smear and taint their opponent. There needs to be a "drumbeat", not a trickle.

1. ...and we need to point out the Repugs have none!
Seriously, if we're talking "character" here, how can someone who dumped his first wife because she was no longer attractive enough for him (and called his second wife a "c--t" and "trollop" in public) qualify as having "character?"

5. We should still play up McCain's unpopular positions such as
Social Security privatization which most Americans dislike.

6. And yet this is the THIRD Presidential election in a row
In which the Rethug's character isn't even in the same LEAGUE with our candidate's.
