Congress is returning. The "Democrat" Congress.
Watch it, this will be the next McCain/Palin talking/bashing point. They're going to go full tilt against the "Democrat" congress. They've been warming up to that, but the return of Congress today will be the kick off for a new attack.

1. If I were to put my Wingnut Pretend Republican Strategist Hat on....
... I'd say that McCain should make an argument that the Democrats are going to keep control of Congress regardless of who the President is going to be, and that it is somehow bad for America to give Democrats full control of the federal government (save for SCOTUS).

It's a line of attack that will blow up soon, and it could be very effective. Unless people really don't want change.

2. I think they'll probably put some of the hopeless issues on back burners and
work on those issues that will reflect unfavorably on the other side. I hope so.

And CBS has been replaying the clip continuously in every news broadcast.
