I blocked MSNBC on my cable.
There, problem solved.

If General Electric wants to replace left-leaning anchors (though I would argue that about Matthews) with a right-leaning anchor, MSNBC is part of their corporation, so they can do that.

If General Electric wants to demote persons with a left-bias and promote persons with a right-bias, MSNBC is part of their corporation, so they can do that.

But they'll do it without me.

Besides, it's high time I gave my business to PBS, they've long been the most deserving of it.

(And Mika, way to stick that finger in the air. You obviously sensed the stirring of the corporate beast. With the way you've been gushing over Palin lately, you're setting yourself up to be co-anchor of election night! And Gregory, fuck you, and your shameless promotion of Obama smears)

1. Comcast blocked it for us about a month ago
I wonder if that was part of the plan, reduce the viewership, reduce the ratings, alas the right wing has there way again.

19. A lot of us already have blocked Fox. It's been in the tank for the pukes for years.
But I had hoped that with KO and Rachel on board there might be some semblance of objectivity at MSNBC, but now I guess not. But I won't be blocking it. Instead, I will only watch those two shows and fuck the rest.

34. If I must, I can enter in the "parental code".
This is mainly to encourage me to watch other worthy networks who will cover election night and the debates as they should be covered.

But Morning Joe, Hardball (which is the one I really like), all the daytime nonsense and, for the love of GOD, Gregory are out!

MSNBC is entertaining, but it's like sugar, not a lot of substance. And I see the entire network breaking hard right at the request of the McCain campaign, so no more sugar for me!

12. Personally I think that's stupid and here's why
First, if you want to watch clean, unopiniated coverage of the elections then use CSpan or PBS. I did watch some of the convention on MSNBC but was annoyed that it was all chatter and very little of the convention. So by the last 2 days I was using CSpan.

Second, even with this change in who runs the convention you still have Keith Olbermann a part of this show. PLUS outside of election coverage, MSNBC is offering not one but TWO progressive hosts of primetime shows. You're telling us we should block/boycott MSNBC. Perhaps what we should do is just watch between 8-10pm each night and then make sure you support the sponsers during that show.

13. Reactionary, dumb move.... but your choice

Rachel's show is starting tonight

Keith is NOT bumped from election ANALYSIS, just from the anchor desk.

I suppose you'll be watching Fox now? or CNN?

Come on, Kristi.

Think!

There are only THREE shows on cable TV that have a host that DOESN'T lean right:

Countdown
Hardball
Maddow

And you're shutting yourself OFF from them?

Talking about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

17. I don't get msnbc to begin with - nor do thousands in my area
I have Verizon Fios for TV and in the northern New Jersey, Manhattan/Long Island area for some reason no one knows msnbc signed a contract with Cablevision making them the exclusive provider of msnbc in the NY metro area. So if you don't have Cablevision around here you don't have msnbc.

My choice was my own and due in no small part that I loathe David Gregory so completely that the mere sight of him makes my blood pressure rise.

If Keith and Rachel are given freedom in their shows (which I suspect they will not be), I will unblock the channel to watch them.

21. Breaking: Democrats are dumber than republicans
You are blocking Olbermann because NBC says he leans to the left. The ONLY show/channel with ANY left leaning news and you block it because it will show them? It will show them if they DARE to have news you agree with you will not watch?

And you are "giving" your business to PBS. That's because your watching PBS helps them how? Is it possible you don't know the only support PBS needs is your money, not your viewership?

Please tell me the OP was intended as a joke and was so cleverly written none of us got it?

With the hard right turn that MSNBC is undertaking?

Why do you assume that the liberal-crackdown ends at election and debate coverage?

36. The McCain campaign cried that they were being mean, so they replaced them with GOP-shill Gregory.
And apparently the entire network has gotten the message that if you want to make the big bosses happy, then praise McCain. Mika, in particular, is vying for a promotion so desperately that she is fawning over Palin.

And I cannot stand Gregory. The mere sight of him makes my blood pressure rise.

It will be impossible for me to watch MSNBC coverage with the stupid shit that comes out of his mouth. MSNBC has problems with rating, they are going to lose even more people now. It is their loss for caving in so easily to GOP bullying.

But I do appreciate MSNBC's shows from 8pm to 10pm on weeknights. :-)
