Obama Campaign Finally Uses The L-Word In New Ad

Obama Campaign: New McCain Ad Is "Lie"
By Greg Sargent - September 8, 2008, 11:05AM

Here's the response, from Obama spokesperson Bill Burton, to McCain's new ad falsely claiming that Sarah Palin blocked the Bridge to Nowhere:

"Despite being discredited over and over again by numerous news organizations, the McCain campaign continues to repeat the lie that Sarah Palin stopped the Bridge to Nowhere. John McCain has voted with George Bush 90% of the time and he and Sarah Palin will continue Bush's economic policies, his health care policy, his education policy, his energy policy, and his foreign policy. McCain and Palin will say or do anything to make people believe that they will change something besides the person sitting in the Oval Office. That's the kind of politics people are tired of, and it's anything but change."

It's good to see the L-word alive and well. The question remains whether the same news orgs that debunked the original Bridge to Nowhere falsehood will aggressively stay on McCain and hold him accountable every time he and his campaign repeat it.

1. Someone on Obama's team must have watched Rachel Maddow Friday

She was great and bold calling the McCain-Palin talking points about Obama what they really are -- Lies.

God, but the Obama ads are not nearly effective enough. It's not negative campaigning pointing out where your opponent has out and out lied.

7. The worse part is, the media are not correcting them leaving it as truth.

This is what pisses me off.

Knowing the short attention span of the American independent and reich-winger, the MSM this morning alone didn't correct the reich-wing talking heads that Pontius-Palin was not only for the Gravina bridge but she lobbied hard for it and boasted about it before she was "against" it.

However, they got to keep the $250 million dollars even though the bridge was never built. This, in a state with a $ 5 billion dollar surplus because of overcharging oil prices to the rest of the country.

Not a whimper from the "liberal biased media".
