Denial of Pregnancy: A Case Study
Okay, I apologize profusely for not talking about something more substantive, like the imploding economy, etc., but I came across an interesting reference to a psychological disorder called "Denial of Pregnancy":

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa3912/is_200007/ai_n8924823/pg_1?tag=artBody;col1

"Physically, these women experience zero to minimal weight gain, little increase in abdominal girth, and the absence of pregnancy symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, and fatigue."

"Notably, in one report of nonpsychotic denial of pregnancy, the woman had been informed of her positive pregnancy test by a physician and received an obstetric ultrasound examination, but she denied these events as well as the pregnancy."

Essentially, the mother denies the pregnancy to herself as long as possible -- all the way to the end in some cases, which is how babies get born in high school toilets. And somehow she manages not to show and no one notices ("Their sexual partners and families may also be oblivious to the gravid state, which further reinforces denial.")

And from another paper:

"Psychological conflicts that may result in denial of pregnancy include anger at the father of the baby, repressed sexuality, religious prohibitions, relationship with their mother, fear of abandonment, or anticipation of custody loss."

Anyway, it explains the bizarre behavior and the unpregnant looking pics...

1. Just the opposite of hysterical pregnancy whereby the "mother"
believes she is pregnant when medically she is not. She gains weight, imagines the sensation of fetus within, and has other physical manifestations otherwise.

2. Defintiely a sign of emotional instability, at least.
At the very least!
