This is what I have been asking my republican friends:
If McCain gets run over by the beer truck tomorrow, would Palin be the presidential candidate? They all say no. Then why would you want her to be next in line if McCain dies after the election? Varying responses, but most have not gone that far in their thinking.

I actually don't think Palin will end up being the nominee. I think enough scandals will force her to decline due to family reasons.

1. I hope she does quit
But I think it's extremely unlikely. She's power hungry.

She is so high in the polls now. Haven't you heard? ENERGY ENERGY ENERGY.

3. Unless the GOP has a major bait-and-switch in mind....
...there is really no time left to replace her on the ticket.

5. Republican voters don't think
or else Republicans would hold very little power in the federal government.

6. I get a kick out of asking my friends "If McCain dropped dead on
Nov 3rd, would you vote for Palin on Nov 5th". All have answered "uh, no".
