Palin is the shiny thing you wave around to distract people...
...and, I'm sorry to admit, it seems to be working.

Watching Senator Clinton immediately after Palin, I can understand why McCain is suddenly drawing larger crowds.

And I can understand if people are a bit tired of Hillary and Barack after months of the primaries and GE coverage.

Palin's new, she's fresh, she's Gidgit on steroids, and the Republicans are using her to great advantage.

We can't fight "shiny and new", but she's not going to stay shiny for much longer, so let's let them parade her around for awhile, that shine is going to dull.

Soon, people will get over her sparkle, the issues will begin to matter again, and the Obama campaign, now strategically laying low, will bring out the big guns.

Count on it.

And if you aren't already a member of your nearest Obama group, if you aren't in touch with ways to canvas, phone-bank, or register voters...

Then STFU and I'm holding you personally responsible if we don't win this election.

1. Hear, hear.
So many here think they influenced the media with endless posts about McCain's VP but then just wring their hands about Obama 'not fighting back'....

Why not make a million posts about Obama and his speeches and what he wants to do for the country?

Let's see if we can force the media to start covering Obama again!

4. Echo chamber of distress and panic!
I really appreciate the threads that offer useful information, stuff that I can share with others, resources for making a difference.

Using the board as a way to vent is fine, but there had better be some action off the board to go with it.

Your pic: The wacky septuagenarian and his wacky Nanny...going out to Denny's for the senior special...

Thanks!

6. Looks kinda like a Norman Rockwell...
If it wasn't such a serious matter, it would be a cute glimpse of an aging American.
