Since USC Will Beat Ohio State, Should Obama Run Ads During This Game?
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 12:56 PM by Median Democrat
This is a great way to reach the entire state of Ohio. On the other hand, since USC will probably hand Ohio State its ass, perhaps Ohio residents will not be in a good mood.

1. If the network will accept political advertising.....
maybe BEFORE the game. But the fans of whomever loses won't be too happy afterwards, so I think I'd be careful.

5. We Don't Want Ohio Residents To Associate Their Whupping With Obama
Edited on Mon Sep-08-08 01:27 PM by Median Democrat
So, perhaps Obama should just run ads during the first quarter.

;)

9. beanie will play
usc is in for a dog fight. but if osu loses the last thing obama needs are osu fans associating another painful loss with his ads.

12. Great, it will definately be a dogfight
I hope they won't make that association. Hopefully we'll have a victory and it will create good memories.

8. Here in Ohio, you can't get through a single commercial break without an Obama ad.
They're all over it. And I'm positive they'll blanket the airwaves during USC-OSU!!

10. Ohio State is going to get destroyed. Many in Ohio will change the channel.
This game is going to be a laugher and early. Maybe a few early ads, but don't waste the money with ads in the second half. All but the OSU diehards will have changed the channel. They may even mercy-kill the game and show another game late.

14. Maybe Stick To The Pregame To Reach The Tailgate Crowd - Warm Fuzzy Thoughts
Tailgating usually creates warm and fuzzy feeling regardless of the outcome of the game. I would anticipate that Columbus will be overflowing with tailgaters. Perhaps have most of your positive radio ads during the pre-game, then shift to attack ads during the first quarter when the alcohol and testerone kick in. Indeed, perhaps play the Trojan fight song as you discuss McCain.

21. Ah, Just Trying To Lighten The Mood
People are way too serious. Fight the good fight, and try not to obssess over polls. Register a couple of people to vote. Knock on some doors. Then watch the game that will transfix the entire state of Ohio as Cindy McCain waxes poetic about her days as a USC cheerleader.
