1. Koppel nailing Sch. on Palin's lack of foreign policy experience!
Koppel described Obama spoke and wheel model, about 5 or 10 central, many less direct advisors, asked Sch. for McCain model

Sch. just said Obama has 300 for. policy advisors? "fundamentally different level" of expertise than McCain, doesn't describe McCain's model.

"John McCain needs foreign policy advisors like Tiger Woods needs a golf coach." So how does that make JoeLie and Graham Cracker feel?

Koppel called Palin a "rookie" on for. policy, Sch. not pleased. Sch. pushing the Russia and Canada borders (laughable). Trade duties (vague), visiting Alaska Guard.

Koppel "I live in MD, that doesn't make me an expert on PA or VA...How does this give her expertise on Russia or former Soviet Union?"

Sch. dissing community organizers again.

Koppel - so if we get to talk to her, her expertise on Russia will become apparent? Sch. changes subject to executive experience. Koppel - "who's prepping her on foreign policy?" Sch. vague - make her conversant with McCain's foreign policy positions - says it was same for Biden?!!!

7. caller quoting Biden - McCain's failure to make a regional solution
involving Syria, other nations. Sch. says he will respond more "high-minded" than question was posed. (dissing caller!)

Issue with Iran is not level of negotiation, but getting balance of carrots and sticks (I thought McCain thought that was appeasement?)

Fear of regional arms race (um, a little late there - Israel, Pakistan, India, etc.)

Neal Conan cut off caller asking question again - would McCain directly talk to Iran. :grr:

12. Koppel - anything *new* McCain would do in Pakistan (an actual nuclear power)
Sch. disses Obama rather than answering the question. Conan points out Bush admin has been doing the exact action Obama discussed. Sch. says we should be secretive about it instead.
