Leave Palin alone! Why do we keep talking about her?
She is a distraction. We have a lot of work to do. it is ridiculous that McCain is the agent of change when he has been Bush's sidekick for 8 years voting 90% of the time. it is indeed ridiculous that many Americans do not know that McCain and Bush are in the same party. Palin is a moron, she is Quayle with a pony tail and she will show her lack of quality to the press all by herself. We have to make sure that our message gets across without static; we know that the MSM is not going after Palin because all her positions are online and in the blogosphere so what they do is "concentrate on the issues". If we stop giving her oxygen then the media will be forced to ask the questions that need to be asked about this female australopithecus. Please ignore her and let's get to work. We were doing just fine until Palin appeared in the national scene and we gave her oxygen to become a "sensation".

1. Palin needs to be EXPOSED not left alone and the media WILL NOT expose
her. Did they ever expose Bush?

3. And the more we expose her the more we make her "the victim"
You know, Frenchiecat has always been right on this. Most of America does not read the blogosphere, you only expose her to ourselves and we already know plenty of her.

19. That is downright ridiculous. Forget the kids, EXPOSE the truth about her record, she is
incompetent, a liar, an extreme fundamentalist, and NOT a reformer.

20. She will put McCain over the finish line. McCain is USING Palin to sell
himself as a reformer. That message can't be debunked for the LIE IT IS without exposing Palin.

Oh no, let's just sit back and let another FRAUD be perpetrated on the American Public.

2. It's simple. She is McCain's first BIG DECISION. If we define her, we define his leadership
skills.

If she's a savvy pick, then he's a savvy leader.

If she's sucks, then he sucks.

People don't know this?

8. It is incredible that she is more popular than Biden and is seen as ready to be President by 40%
We've done a great job exposing her, right? Let the media get over their infatuation and things will change. Obama and Biden have to do their job in attacking both Palin and McCain and define the way to play this campaign, on the issues and NOT personalities. If it goes to personalities we lose because America will prefer "the Maverick" and "the multitask mother" vs "the Washington insider" and "the Black man". Period. We have to play the issues and not talk about her killing wolves, Trig, Bristol, Track, her glasses, her hairdo, her voice, etc. etc. Just my opinion.

corporations.

This is the SAME MEDIA that gave us Bush/Cheney.

7. Palin will derail their campaign.
McBush won't. He chants "POW, POW, POW" and people run to the polls to vote for him. Palin is the worst VP pick in the history of the nation and that will be what takes out McCain's campaign.

33. There's the rub

Show me the magnitude of difference between the D's & R's on the matters of highest import: universal health care, our regressive economy, the occupation of Iraq, creeping authoritarianism.

By aping Republican policy the party has essentially disarmed itself, reduced to tossing turds, and we know who wins that sort of contest.

13. I think you are right
BO has been off message since Denver and it has cost him plenty.

If this keeps going, people will forget his name.

And then there is the old, "a guy shouldn't pick on a girl". As silly as it sounds, there are those who quietly still believe it. And they are voters.

15. One suggestion: At least quit with the parodies - focus on her REAL negatives
When you start to parody someone, it builds the perception they're larger-than-life.

Don't give her any credit for that. Focus on the fact that she's a Big Oil puppet with links to dangerous secessionist and religious groups, who happens to be a shitty, vindictive cutthroat of a Mayor and Governor, the "skills" that are supposed to make her more qualified than the TRUE quality candidates on the Democratic ticket.

Bang the 'extremist' drum; focus on her hypocritical desire to prescribe abstinence to our entire nation when she can't enforce it within her own family.

22. Given how McCain already has one foot in the grave and another one
on a banana peel, Palin is EXTREMELY relevant. She will likely become president due to McCain's death.

His stances are an issue. HER stances are an issue.

His unfitness for the job is an issue. HER unfitness for the job is an issue.

Anyone running for high office who thinks the Founding Fathers wrote the Pledge of Allegiance complete with "under God" and thinks Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are government institutions is UNFIT to serve. We are just scratching the surface of her incompetence. And the worse she is shown to be, the worse McCain looks for picking her.

But you go ahead defending her. Just don't expect to do it here and not get a pizza.

30. First, McCain looks like he's going to keel over any second, now.
I'm sure that a rigorous presidential campaign would take its toll on anyone, not to mention a 72 yr old. If he dies, which is hardly out of the question at his age and with his history of cancer, she's it. She would be the PRESIDENT.

Secondly, with their choice of Palin as McCain's running mate, they lowered the bar for the tone of the campaign. They are determined to make the campaign about personality instead of the issues, and they are WINNING. People love Palin, and they respond to her PERSONALITY. They don't give a flying flip that she knows nothing about the issues. They don't consider the impact of her potential presidency on our country. They just think it's cool that someone who is "like them" got this close to the presidency.

I do agree that attacking her without evidence would be disastrous for anyone associated with the Obama campaign, but someone needs to bring her down. The only reason that McCain's campaign got a bounce from their convention is because of her. She's their attack dog, their pit bull. Someone needs to muzzle her.

I see Democratic Underground as a venue for exploring possibilities for achieving that goal. DU is not the Obama Campaign.

Whatever brings her down needs to be simple, and easy to understand. It's not going to be a vague abuse of power charge or her misunderstanding of Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae (most people don't understand their structure themselves.) It's going to be something stupid, like an affair. It's going to blow our minds.

34. McLame was defined as an elitist who doesn't know how many houses he has...
He is now "McOpoly" and that will forever be his image (despite his POWPOWPOW). He was mortally wounded which forced the repukes to eliminate a number of more moderate VP choices and go with the hail Mary pass. Now it's time to take the other half down.

I know she is bait but bait can be handled with a good 1-liner to define and dismiss her at once like was done with McLame.
