I was feeling a little depressed about the polls so I made 35 calls today!!
I used the vote builder site and called absentee voters in the Jackson, MI area and got quite a few McCain supporters who I was very polite to and for the most part they were polite to me. I assured them that no one would be calling them again, which they appreciated. I did get a few Obama supporters as well. The best part was knowing that I was collecting data and making a difference. I will make more calls tomorrow! YES WE CAN!!!!!

2. You are so welcome! One of the women who supports Barack was so kind I started crying!
Then we both laughed and she thanked me for working for Obama. It really was a good experience. Everyone should do it! I can't tell you how much better I feel.

3. I know what you mean about that. People need to know that it is great to connect via
phone banking. For every miss there are a few hits and those conversations make it all worthwhile!

5. Print up your neighbor to neighbor work sheets. I found I know a lot of
people on the list in my neighborhood and I did not know they were democrats! I am supposed to get 50 done in 13 days so I better get going!

7. Went to a Dem Committee meeting tonight
Lots of local races to help with in addition to the Big One.

After bragging that the Dems seem to have their shit together - and of course it was the same cat-herding exercise I always dread, with all the new people wanted to debate and discuss, and all the regulars wanting to get their marching orders and get out. But hey - at least we HAD some new people, and the Obama coordinator was there the tell us about their new HQ, so I put up with it.
