Is Sarah Palin's husband mute?.....Has anyone heard him talk?
Seriously....She's been on the scene about 10 days....with him by her side a lot of the time, but he has never said a word!
Wouldn't you think that by now some reporter would have asked him something like, "how does it feel to be the husband of a possible Vice President of the United States", for instance? I have never even heard anyone remark on the fact that we haven't heard his voice! What gives????

So after he started muttering about McCain being a douche near some microphones, they decided to keep him hidden from here on out.

22. What difference does this make? I came to DU to discuss issues but...
it seems that most threads are about irrelevant crap like this. Whether or not her husband is mute should have no bearing upon this race. What's important is things like energy policy, health care, the Iraq war, etc, etc. But I see very little of the important issues discussed at DU. Instead it's mostly irrelevant nonsense that has nothing to do with anything.

38. I've worked with men and women like Palin
So I'm not being sexist - I've seen this in both combos (you'll know what I'm talking about in a sec). The most glaring example though involves a woman who I used to work with who was so sure she was right about everything and very loud about it even though time after time from how her kids acted to her performance at work never matched up with what she thought about herself. Another co-worker and friend of mine and I met her husband once while we were volunteering at a table for an event, and like I've said, I've seen the same situation in both combos, but never as much as this. The guy's eyes were dead. He was a completely broken man. I'm sure the only joy in his life were his Walter Mitty-esque fantasies he engrossed himself in when around her to keep himself from eating a bullet.

I think Palin is just like that. It's not a sexist thing about women wearing the pants making a man less of a man, but she's so completely sure that she's right about everything that I'm sure even considering her marriage as an equal partnership would be an abhorrence because there would be a chance that one of her decisions would be challenged, or a choice would be made that she didn't agree with. After a while, if the other person in the relationship doesn't stand up and lets him or herself keep getting railroaded, it's just easier to let the other person have his or her way. Isn't Palin's husband a part time fisherman as well as some sort of consultant for an oil company? That takes a lot of effort and time away from her, and I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons he does it.
