She lied about not supporting it.

The money for the bridge to nowhere?

She lied about telling Washington she didn't want it. She did want it, she took the money, and she spent it.

I think the strategy is to get their side enthused enough to get out and vote. There were too many willing to stay at home - and this is an attempt to get them voting.
