AP: Obama's lipstick remark "clearly drawing a connection"
From the (Chicago Burbs) Daily Herald
http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=233924&src=110

Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama told an audience Tuesday that GOP presidential nominee John McCain says he'll change Washington, but he's just like President Bush.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said to an outbreak of laughter, shouts and raucous applause from his audience, clearly drawing a connection to Palin's joke even if it's not what Obama meant. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still going to stink after eight years."

I wish I'd brought the actual print paper in with me because I swear this page two story was even more suggestive of the 'pig' being a reference to Palin, and not just to her lipstick joke. If some other Chicagoan with access to the Herald wants to correct me, that's fine.

2. If she can't handle national politics she can drop out right now.
Palin can dish it out but apparently she can't take it. How's she going to handle Washington? How's she going to handle Osama bin Laden and Putin and whoever will be running North Korea?

Edit to correct misstatement that these two are the same story. They're not.

My error. I had read the Pickler story earlier today. She's full of it, too, of course.
