Obama's Message Is OLD- Economy, Economy, McCain Is Bush, McCain Is Bush, Etc. - We Need SIZZLE!
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 10:26 PM by Median Democrat
Many of the folks with post counts in the teens have forcefully argued that the Democrats need to shake things up and learn some lessons about how to campaign from the Republicans. In other words, go for the low blows, and out-Rove Karl Rove. The first lesson is that the election is not about the issues, its about the personalities. Too many times, Democrats instictively react with outrage at every perceived smear told about their candidate. For example, the Obama campaign issued a 40 page rebuttal to Jerome Corsi's book. The rebuttal was filled with facts and citations. In other words, it was BORING! :boring:

You listen to Obama and Biden speak, and its the economy, jobs, employment figures, etc. Its all true. It can all be backed up. And this means its BORING! :boring: What the Obama campaign needs to do lie. Lie like a rug! Lie everytime your lips move, and don't tell small lies. Tell big ones! Why? Because lies generate outrage, which generates coverage. For example, say incredibly stupid shit, like Obama is a foreign policy expert because Illinois is near Candada. Or, Obama can address the spoilation of our oceans, because he has body surfed. Or, say something demostrably false again and again like, "Ronald Reagan endorses the Obama/Biden ticket," and the McCain campaign will go crazy pointing out that Reagan is dead. Facts are boring. Lies generate sizzle!

Another Republican tip, is to stop avoiding personal controversy. Do you notice that the parties talking the most about alleged smears and attacks on Palin are typically Republicans talking about Palin's baby's baby or how calling Palin a Republican is sexist. The Democrats have it all wrong about fighting smears. Its better to develop really big whoppers of a smear, then rebut it again and again and blame your opponent. For example, call a press conference, and say that McCain's opposition to same sex unions is actually a secret code suggetsing that Obama is a hermaphodite. Then during the press conference angrily denounce the rumors spread by McCain, and say that only a man with lady parts would spread such a rumor.

The goal, of course, is to keep the American public distracted and entertained so they don't have to dwell on such dreary, depressing topics. The Obama campaign goes on and on about the economy and how McCain is the same as Bush. Blah, blah, blah. Obama keeps on repeating that we aren't stupid. Well, Mr. Smarty Pants, I have news for you, we are! :spray: So, stop your broken record repetition about the economy, tax relief, the high cost of college tuition, or the fact McCain is the virtually identical to George Bush. Obama is being such a killjoy! Instead, as an Amerucan voter, I want to have a soap opera that distracts from these concerns so that I know that my President or Vice-President are even more screwed up or stupid then I am. We don't want some smarty pants elitist.

So, come on DUers! Particularly you folks with under 50 posts! Lets send a message to the Obama campaign to get off the two subject "Economy/McCain is Bush" theme that they have been beating again and again. Lets kick those liberal elitist out of the White House, and elect Barack Obama as President. Lets introduce some sizzle to the game!

;)

1. The thread about FDR some good sizzle... "I welcome their hatred!"

In Obama's case, it subtly attacks their racism... without naming it. We all *KNOW* why they hate him.

It shows boldness ("I'm not afraid of those pricks!")
