Barack Obama has handled "lipstickgate" brilliantly!
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 10:33 PM by Blue_Roses
While watching Keith, they showed a clip of him addressing the lipstick issue at a town hall meeting today. I was so impressed with his candor about the lies and how we the people are the ones who are hurt in the long run with another election cycle going down the tubes with petty issues. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!:bounce:

That needs to be an ad:D

2. I think Obama was brilliant to in his defence of his comments. He is much better
when he is emotionally involved in his comments. And he was today.

3. Well said
The man never ceases to amaze me. I finally got to see that response just a bit ago. He hits back with class. Go Barack.

4. Obama/Biden are clearly superior in every way...
...regardless of partisanship. I mean c'mon...all I say to people is: You're considering the old fart and the crazy church lady? Are you kidding me? It actually gets them thinking.

6. the best thing he said this morning...
I hope he repeated it on Letterman, I haven't seen it yet.

He said the media knows the McCain campaign is insincere. He says everyone knows McCain isn't really offended.

I thought that was a really effective thing to say, especially if they say it to the media itself. The journalists then will have to either say yeah, we know it's fake, or else try to deny it, which would be very hard for them.

7. No, the best thing he said was a comment to someone in the crowd
I'm paraphrasing:
"I may not punch first but I make sure I get the last punch."

8. I wonder if we missed the real dig
I've been thinking about this. It would seem to me that the "lip-stick" comment was a dog-whistle for McCain. The real dig came a minute or two later, when he said that he has "two kids of his own and they tire Michelle and me out"

Leaves an unanswered question lodged in the bowels of the mind - If he's tired with two, how tired is Palin with 5?

He can't go after her directly on her mothering skills, but that type of comment does the job indirectly.

yes, he is that smart.
