Even before TV interview, Americans feeling "Palin Fatigue"
http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/1284788-sarah-palin

(full column available through link above)

As the shock from Republican Sen. John McCain’s selection of little-known Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate gave way to her stage-managed entrance onto the American political scene, some Americans – many of whom had paid little if any attention to Campaign 2008 up to that point – were swept away by the idea of a strong woman from The Last Frontier riding down to the Lower 48 to save the day.

And regardless of your politics -- regardless of where you stand on how to best help working families trying to make ends meet, or whether or not Social Security should be strengthened by the government or left to the whims of Wall Street, or any of the great questions concerning God and Country – regardless of all this, Sarah Palin is a great story.

We are, after all, Americans. We love stories about people of modest origins who speak truth to power and by way of their courage and honor set things right again. At times in our history, we’ve even been fortunate enough as a nation to get someone who brings the change America needs when it needs it. Were this the case with Palin, it would no doubt be a blessing for all of us.

There’s just one big problem: Palin may be from Alaska, but her carefully crafted political image is all Hollywood. Tinsel. She’s what happens when a party with an absolutely atrocious record to run on makes a bold move that could be viewed as cynical or inspired, depending on one’s perspective, but can in no way be seen as even remotely fair to the American People.

7. Yes, indeedy!! A VERY good read!
It isn't just that he's a very good writer, but he also appeals to the cognitive brain, rather than the lizard brain. The points that he made, will remain with me for a long time.

I'll return to that site later on, and to that writer.

3. I'm so bored with her....
she's gonna need to dye her hair, get it cut and get some contacts.

Someone needs to tell her that's what real "Stars" do.

will she ever star in a talkie again? that's what I want to know.

11. She's a true political celebrity, in every sense of the word, so...
she will have to pull the same kind of stunts celebrities use to keep the spotlight.

I'm guessing the celebrity divorce/wedding and a baby bump are out. That leaves anorexia or an extreme diet, plastic surgery, nipple slip (or worse), substance abuse, cheating partner, lesbian rumors and total public meltdown.

10. "If Palin had been a deer-hunting mom from New Jersey
John McCain would have gotten no post-convention bump whatsoever."

20. Great article. Thanks for the link!
Here's another quote:
McCain, by the way, is the Republican nominee for president. You may remember him from the Sarah Palin convention in Minneapolis, where he gave a speech and was congratulated by Sarah Palin.

6. I think our strategy was good and McCain flubbed.
Even the right wing nuts I know are just plain tired of talking about Palin. The bloom is off the rose.

9. Bullshit
The polls say she's not. It's the media that says she is, and they're lying.

14. Go away.
Your agenda is tiresome.

Unrelentingly negative.

Obama wins. You lose.

But keep flying under the radar.

You eventually smack into dirt that way.

17. NO! Once again it is the right wing extremist fundie nuts who are kicking our ass..
they are crazy and cultish, well organized and very motivated. They get a lot of teevee face time. We need to learn how to counter them.

15. It's all they've had for years; Hollywood backdrops, smoke and mirrors...
Which is ironic that she said Obama's Convention stage will go back to a prop department somewhere. The Republican Party has produced Hollywood type events for Bush all these years.

They even had to ship in electricity to light up this stage set:

Etc, etc, etc.

16. Yep, her expiration date is coming up real fast...
she is an exceedingly irritating person to listen to, repeats the same old tired debunked lines over and over. The Empress has no clothes. Soon only the brainwashed, the fundie rapture ready types, will be listening to her.

21. I'm bored with her
Is she ever going to come out of her cone of silence?

It really is a joke at this point.

I find I have absolutely no desire to watch her interview. I think the fact that it'll be spread out over many days makes it even less compelling.
