Thank you, Governor Blagojevich!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/11/blagojevich-defends-palin_n_125815.html

There's no better way to fire up Illinois Democrats than words coming from our Sainted Governor Rod.

He just cost McCain/Palin 5 more points in Illinois. That'll help the popular vote margin!

I really wish he'd endorse McCain. That'd get Obama up over the 95% mark here.

2. She gets love from one of the worst governors and one of the most unpopular governor's in the
country

Blago is a clown and a pathetic excuse for a governor.

If he's the nominee again...I'll be moving my vote elsewhere

16. Remember when Blago had presidential ambitions?
Back when he was first elected there was talk of him running in '08. There are rumors that the not-so-great relations he has with Obama are partly over the fact that Obama "stole" his thunder.

Delusional.

4. He is known for his travel/work habits...
Scrutiny of Palin's travel echoed in Illinois
John O'Connor/The Associated Press

Published Thursday, September 11, 2008

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- A governor who spends a lot of time away from the Capitol, whose family travels at state expense, who is criticized for not showing up at crucial legislative moments - the scrutiny of the travel and work habits of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sounds familiar in Illinois, where Gov. Rod Blagojevich has faced similar criticism.

Both the Republican candidate for vice president and Blagojevich, a Democrat, continued living in their homes outside the capital city after being elected to lead their states. And with reports that Palin took expense reimbursements while living at home and flies family members at state expense to events, both have been questioned about how and where they work.

As with Blagojevich, at least one tax expert says Palin's travel reimbursements raise questions about whether the Internal Revenue Service would consider some of them taxable fringe benefits.

Blagojevich lives in Chicago, 300 miles from the capital of Springfield, and lawmakers have repeatedly criticized him for not spending enough time here, gathering support for his agenda

5. Man, I was tempted to vote Green in '06 for Governor
but I just kept thinking about Baar-Topinka appointing Barack's successor and it forced my hand.

7. Gov. Blagojevich chases anything in a skirt.
He's more ineffectual than Daley & Stroger combined and that's quite a feat.

14. You can call the Mayor a lot of things, but "ineffectual" is kind of silly.
If anything, the Mayor is just about the most effective politician in America.

9. Geez...
I really am the only one that likes Governor Blagojevich. My parents are die-hard liberal Democrats in IL and they dislike him too.

Ah well. Governor Hynes or Governor Madigan (Lisa) would be fine too.

Obama's going to have a lot of input on this, too, of course.

18. I hope not
Because I'd really like her as our governor. I think she's exactly what our state needs after the corrupt disasters the last two administrations have been.

I keep waiting for Blago to be indicted at some point. Though, it probably wouldn't happen until he's out of office.

12. The hair!
:D

And the fact that he had to clean up 27 years of Republican shit, and wasn't concerned about pissing people off to do so. I know I'm in a tiny minority though.

13. By "clean up" you mean "embraced it as his own so much that he'll be in prison soon..."
Right?

Dude is just as corrupt as George Ryan.

Not too sure about the 27 years thing, either. The Republican before Ryan (Edgar) was a RINO on a lot of issues, and wasn't so bad.

He's an sleazy, unethical opportunist who only gives a fuck about Rod Blagojevich.

I'm ashamed to say that I voted for him. He's a disgrace to the Democratic Party.
