so it could be run on TV -- and with a little less of the horrific shots. People will respond negatively to US showing the brutality (like we are disgusted with the RNC for the 9/11 video), rather than at Palin. My two cents.

This is demeaning. Show this to all hunters and organizations. Last nights interview, now this.

but there is a HUGE difference from hunters with ethics, and this.

to thin the population of wolves, who eat the caribou and moose which are the bread and butter of their hunting industry.

So, have more caribou and moose to offer the hunters. Get rid of those pesky wolves who are interfering with our bottom line.

It's cold blooded killing -- this is not hunting and it's not done for sport.

it's an attempt to get rid of the wolves (hence the bounty) which prey on the caribou and moose populations (which are what brings the hunters and their $$$ to the area.)

This is just bounty hunting.

I love it when you folks call gunning down defenseless animals a "sport."

It's unsportsmanlike to hunt animals from helicopters. It's a lot like shooting quail that are released in an enclosed area.

And yes, I am surrounded by otherwise intelligent people who turn into morons when it comes to politics. I have friends who proudly are wearing sweatshirts declaring "Hockey moms for McCain/Pailin" and "My hockey mom can beat up your community organizer any day." It's sick and hard to stomach. At least I can send my money to organizations that are doing some good, but that's about all I can do. Wyo is red, and that's not going to change anytime soon.

I think a lot of people with the PETE/Animal rights activists = bad mentality are going to be turned off by ads like this.

We should be able to score some points with the hunters on this too, if we do it right.

But I am not sure if this ad really points that out. A responsible hunter hiking for hours in knee deep snow stalking an animal and using a rifle or even a bow would in most instances find hunting from a plane despicable. Unfortunately, the way that the ad uses savagery, may make hunters think that they're describing all hunting as savage.

and one year did buy a cougar tag, as our area is overrun with them and some have been targeting humans, small pets, my cattle and the like. So ours was a self defense move (we live on a 1000 acres, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of blm and NFS acreage, so I am not exactly crowding their space in town). We no longer hunt deer for our vension (nor buy it in the store shipped in from NZ), but I have no issues with hunting, ie the real deal hunting. It is just a different, and probably to me, way more honest form of getting one's meat than that practiced by people who have to rely on the grocery store and someone else doing the heavy lifting of taking another life to sustain their own. Don't blame people for doing the butcher shop neat shiny plastic package thing, except when they refuse to get that a feedlot animal has a shitty life compared to one that is out on its own terms in nature, right up until the minute its life is taken. If we are eating meat (which I am), then quality of life is an issue for my eating habits.

There two kinds of hunters - those who do it and eat what they harvest (a harsher version to some of what ohers just let a fed lot/slaughter house do for them), plus they actually "hunt", which takes days and they walk miles.

The other group is a bunch of fucking creeps, and who do it for bloodlust and sport. I hate these people, I wish them hunted themselves. I can't express my disgust - hunting from helicopters is not about filling your freezing or even hunting. It is what psychopathic people do to "pass" as normal hunters to the rest of society.

And those bastards don't fool me one bit.

Let's make this 'sport' a fair, two-sided competition!

Which is why they haven't won an election fair & square in 20 years.

I question calling this necessarily a bad thing as I know there are some times when wild populations must be controlled for very good reasons and usually there is no humane way to do it.

Having said all that however, I think the emotional appeal of this on independents could turn a lot of votes away from the 'Pukes.

We must use either this one or something to the same affect.

I usually immediately hide all threads dealing with animal abuse. (The suffering of children and animals is my big problem with believing in a loving God.)

However, I did post the YouTube clip URL about aerial wolf hunting on my local paper's comment section, which had nothing to do with hunting), and got a response right away:
