This thread gave me Rovian thoughts
Let me preface this post with this warning: I AM NOT ADVOCATING DEFACING POLITICAL SIGNS. I am just formulating an idea I feel the Rovian minions would use against Democrats if we did not identify our political party affiliation.

See this thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x7041122

Here's the scenario:

It is against campaign law (at least in my state) to destroy, remove or deface political signs placed in appropriate places.

What if these signs had a big red stenciled "REPUBLICAN" appear on them? Would a Republican candidate report the offense? Wouldn't that make them look ridiculous in the newspapers to be outraged that someone actually identified them by their party?

I'm going to go wash my brain out with bleach now.

1. maybe next to them. A sign with arrow: Republican

That way you are clear of any 'defacing' concerns.

But yes.... great idea. All over I see the unlabeled candidates.

2. Good "legal" solution
KKKKarl had seeped into my brain and made me think those unlawful thoughts before I had time to come up with a legal solution.

3. It should be a white with blue lettering sticker with the word REPUBLICAN
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 11:33 AM by Boz
to fit in lower margins or along the side borders but not to destroy their message.

4. But int todays political environment...
Repugs are RED, Democrats are BLUE. They are even using our color even though according to polling studies, white letters on a green background are most appealing.

5. Legal-schmegal. When the pukes stop trashing our signs, we will show 'deference' to theirs.
Until then, no quarter should be given because we certainly receive none from them.

They consistently do place them in illegal spots as well, so the only sane response is to fight back BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.

This is a war we cannot afford to lose.
