Bridge to Nowhere: "Embarrassment" or crime?
Edited on Fri Sep-12-08 08:01 PM by gulliver
Gotta repeat this topic. Palin is apparently calling the Bridge to Nowhere an "embarrassment" in tonights ABC interview. Has anyone checked to make sure it is not a crime masquerading as an embarrassment? http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/Story?id=5789483&page=1

Not really just a flip flop, not really just a lie, but a criminal level taxpayer fraud.

This Bridge to Nowhere is so apparently "stupid" that my naturally suspicious nature has to ask: What Republican palms were greased for it? What Palin and Ted Stevens contributors worked it? For all the world, it reminds me of a Jack Abramoff style con. Forgive me if I just can't let it go with a laugh or a snark about flip flopping or lying. What if they are playing dumb to hide the fact that they were really defrauding taxpayers intentionally?

At the very least, Palin should give back the money. She kept the money! Just borrow it, Palin, and pay back the taxpayers if you are such a maverick reformer! If it is such an embarrassment, pay it back! But who were you going to give the money too? And who got the money you kept?

1. It is an INDICATOR of her character. She is a LIAR, NOT a leader. That is all. NT

3. A liar and a flip flopper AT A MINIMUM.
Maybe that stench is disguising Ted Stevens-like corruption. Maybe she is just a dopey pawn in a scheme. All I know is that this seems just too stupid to be really stupid. Any time someone does something stupid but ends up with a couple hundred million dollars, you have to question who is really stupid.

'scuse the caps, but you used 'em. :-)

5. It is an issue that goes nowhere for us.
Both Obama and Biden voted for the bridge two times. (Before and after the uproar). Congress said Alaska could do anything with the money if they didn't want the bridge. They didn't want the money back.
