Reasons to vote for McCain
Do you have $20M or more in the bank, at least 5 houses and 15 cars?

Are you happy with how our health care system works? If you get cancer or MS tomorrow, is your insurance policy going to take care of you? Are you paying a fair price for any medicines you need?

Are you OK with not doing anything about global warming?

Do 100 years in Iraq and "Bomb, Bomb, Iran" seem like good ideas to you?

Do you think it is a lousy idea to have diplomatic relations with our adversaries?

Are you convinced that waterboarding, illegal renditions, and warrant-less wiretapping make you safer as an American?

Do you think it is good public policy to (and wise for world relations) conduct wars in the name of our Christian God?

Would you be happy to see abstinence-only sex education taught in schools?

Are you looking forward to having a Supreme Court that will be aligned with Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia on every decision?

If you can answer "Yes" to these, then you should vote for Governor Palin and her sidekick, the old Keating-5 guy.

1. Good sarcasm kinda nails point home, as in "why would anyone vote for him?"

One point is wrong though. Having one wrong point often can allow someone to defeat the entire argument.
The (il)logic being is he is wrong on this one maybe he is wrong on all of them.

McCain has been anti-torture and has never waivered, even when party was gungho about torture, even when getting blasted in primaries by Romney and Rudy. Obama voted for FISA allowing warrantless wiretaps so I don't think that is a good argument.

Drop this one line and it looks like a winner.

2. Nope - McCrash flip-flopped on that issue, too.
Did he not vote against a bill affirming the illegality of waterboarding?

4. He was against it before he was for it
as the expression goes. I take your point about accuracy. But in this case, I think it is generally accurate, and we should WELCOME McCain trying to argue that we have that point wrong. That will bring the spotlight onto that very important issue. For a man who spent years in the Hanoi Hilton, it is unfathomable to me that he could have backed off his opposition to torture -- But he did. And that is when we knew for sure that he had no principles or integrity left, if he ever had any.

And let us not forget that McCain cracked under torture. He gave the VC what they wanted. He denounced America.

I am quite sure is was a much braver and much tougher man than I would would have been in that situation. I probably would have cracked in hours where it evidently took some months for the torture to break him. But all of that just proves that torture can get anybody to say anything. It has no value in finding useful information because the prisoners are likely to tell you whatever they think you want to hear, true or not, just as John McCain did those 40 years ago.

Shame on McCain. If there is one many in the Republican Party who should have been resolute in his opposition to torture, it should have been John McCain.
