I'm feeling optimistic about Missouri
Some observations from my trip back to my alma mater this past week:

* A worker at the local Obama organization told me they have registered many thousands of students, new voters, who are flying under the radar in the polls. In a state that is now polling +5 for McCain, this could make all the difference.

* An old Clinton supporter here said she believes that Missouri is winnable. She is going to work for the Obama campaign to do whatever she can to make that happen.

My plea to the Obama campaign is to make sure NOW that your new student registrations are above court challenge. Send lawyers to Columbia to watch the voting proceedings here. Although this is a very reasonable town, the outside troops might not be so ethical. Also, please GOTV!

1. Claire is a big help to Barack as well and they have put organizations in rural
areas like you wouldn't believe. They are staffed by the locals not outsiders. A great ground organization as he has all over the country. They must feel they have a shot outside of KC and St. Louis. Springfield area will be tough as well as the bootheel.

2. Race is the determining factor in some areas...
and those people are intractable.

It was strange riding on the interstate and seeing no cars at all with bumper stickers. It's almost like people are so polarized that they don't want to offend their neighbors.

My hat is off the everybody who is working so hard in Missouri. If we flip this state, we win the election.

3. That's fantastic news to hear. More of the good news folks less of the bad we get what we focus on..
We just ingore the polls and keep going against all odds. As long as we are out there on the ground and ignoring the silly season.
