My Neighbors voting habits and the Price of Gas (correlation)

Bare with me here:

I like my neighbors...but even after I've pointed out all the obvious flaws in the Insane/Pablum ticket, they still love the two.

They told me this morning that they get their Gas at a station that's 8 miles from their/my house because it's
"Almost a dime cheaper!" ...There's a station 3 blocks from their house (8 cents higher)

I pointed out that if they buy 15 gallons of fuel they are saving a huge $1.20
Since their SUV gets 16 miles to a gallon...they actually LOSE about 70 cents making the trip.
Their Answer.."Well, you may (May ???) be right but we "Feel" better about it.

..And There is the problem, People...instead of using Logic in their choices, they rely on pure emotion.

They essentially choose their "Gas Buying" with the same Pure Feelings that they choose a President.

Oh Me...Sigh....

these people are really stupid. I think the republicans lack of intelligence is more apparent now, than it's ever been. Or maybe I'm just paying more attention now...

We're fucked.

Ok, so I'm not completely pessimistic, but I've been listening to my husband talk about the guys he works with -- all right wingers except for one other -- & it doesn't look good. One guy said he thinks Palin is 'good looking' so he doesn't have a problem voting for her. What the fuck?
