Sarah Palin named her sons "Track Enfield Palin" & "Van Palin"
Sarah Palin's sons are Track Enfield and Trig Paxson Van.

When Trig Paxson Van was born, his father told the Anchorage Daily News that "Van" is from the name of the rock band Van Halen. Todd Palin said they thought "Van Palin" would be a really cool name.

5. My first name is Laurel. Today, even ADULTS give me the "Where's Hardy?"
ADULTS.

My parents had the best intentions. What the Palins did was mild child abuse. :puke:

4. Who Cares
How does this effect the outcome in November? Answer - it doesn't. I know lots of folks who name their kids all sorts of strange things... Moon Unit... Diesel... but you know what that's not going to win an election. We might want to play a little "follow the leader" and take our cues from Barack Obama. He is running against John McCain and he is trying to draw stark contrasts between himself and McCain on a variety of issues including

The Economy

The War

Healthcare

Civil Liberties

Taxes

and a range of other subjects.

Maybe we should follow his example.

16. Lots care, in more ways than you can imagine. 80-to 90 % of the voters already
have made up their minds. The campaign comes down to the remaining 10 to 20% undecideds and voter turnout.

The fact that the Palin's are a bit careless in what they put on their kids is extremely relevant to the undecideds, and it could effect turnout as well.

Don't think about Palin's wacko dysfunctional family life. Just think about the economy. And somebody's dysfunctional mortgage lending system.

7. Yes, if you read the Alaskan Newspapers...
...around the time that Trig was born--you'll see several of them refer to this.

Palin is quoted several times, saying that they laughed about giving the child
the middle name Van, because next to Palin, it would sound like Van Halen.

These people sound like complete jerks.

Are there children just objects to them? I find that incredibly disrespectful
and dehumanizing.

9. I'm not one to criticize.
I've often joked that if I had children I'd name the first "Fletcher Christian" and the second "Sir Phillip Sidney."

11. Sir Phillip Sidney...you're already in the making of an evil mum. ^_^
You want him to be in misery all his life. Kids in school will torture him with taht name. He'll either go by Phil or Sid. Well you can always say to him, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger..."

15. Well, of course, I'm not going to have any children
so the names will go unused.

17. Who knows...the name are now in my head.
During my monumentous moment of pregnancy I might by some random fluke remember that name and say my child will be called Sir Fletcher Sidney. :D

10. You know I'm familiar with this craziness. My uncle named all of his three daughters, Ingrid.
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 11:09 AM by vaberella
It's his favorite name so they're like Ingrid (the original---she's the first borne). Second is like Ingrid Valentina (she's the second born on valentines day) and the last is Ingrid something or other and I just call her Ingrid the Third.

14. Well...
...when you view a womans primary role in life as popping out litters, funny names are an alternative to just giving them serial numbers.
