The racism of the "Disrespectful" ad
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 03:11 PM by pnwmom
First, they put out an ad associating Senator Obama with flashy, high-living hollywood celebrities like Spears and Hilton. How disrespectful.

They ridiculed his post-college years as a community organizer. How disrespectful.

They twisted his support of a bill to protect children from molesters into a bill to harm children. How disrespectful. (And how underhanded.)

From the time Sarah Palin took the national stage she’s been joining in – mocking, ridiculing, and sneering at Senator Obama. But that’s politics. You need to have a thick skin if you’re going to play the game.

Then they crossed the line.

There’s only one way to understand the meaning of their “Disrespectful ad”: they’re telling us that a black man owes a special respect to a white woman. . . a respect that she doesn’t owe to HIM.

And there’s only way way to understand that attitude: disgusting, despicable racism.

:puke:

Here's a link to a response to the ad, not the ad itself:

1. why does he owe her anything?
Obama's not running against Palin, he's running against McCain!!

It sounds like McCain should try using a little respect, if he still knows what that is.......

2. I would call that a dog whistle ad, but
dog whistle ads are usually more subtle. This ad is blatant racist.

3. Racists are insecure about their sexual and/or job access.
