I just stopped by my local Obama office and the place was full of people and
energy..signing up people for canvasing, phone calling, voter registration etc. If you haven't done it yet find your local office and volunteer to do something..you won't be sorry!

1. How do I find it, do you know?
I just tried to use the neighbor to neighbor tool on myBarackObama.com and was unable to because my address didn't show up. That's probably because I'm on a military installation though.

will be listed for an event. Good luck!

6. Yeah, I've done that
as well. I sent out a ton of friend requests to try to link up to like-minded members of our community. I did find a really great group called Blue Star Families for Obama and joined it. They've got some really cool merchandise that cafepress.com is offering for sale as well. Buttons with their logo which is the red, white and blue Obama 'O' with a blue star at the top of it, and then around that, Pro-Military, Pro-Obama. I ordered a ten pack for now, and a canvas tote bag as well. Anyways, that way if anyone mentions it in a positive light, I can just give them one. It's kind of hard here because a lot of people instinctively vote Republican because there is such a myth that has been so successfully perpetrated by Republicans that THEY are the party that is the most Pro-Military. But, obviously by the way that we've been treated over the last 8 years, and the way that our Veterans have always been maltreated by the Republican party, I think that it's very important that people in communities like mine know, for example, that Obama co-sponsored the Webb/Hagel GI bill, and McCain didn't support it and when it became clear that his watered down version wasn't going to gain traction, he didn't even bother to show up for the vote I've decided that's going to be my mission for the next fifty some odd days. Wish I would have found these sooner.

8. The important thing is you keep reaching out and help Team Obama get out the vote.
Good luck finding your local office. You'll love volunteering.

9. call the main office in your state
and ask who you can call to help out

some places only have neighborhood volunteers running the areas.

But you can make phone calls and register voters and get out the vote for Obama no matter where you live!

It is the best thing to do with all of my worry and excess stress over this election:-) I hope it is as fun for you.

5. Go to Obama's website, then
click on "states." When the map appears, click on "Kentucky."

It looks as though the closest office is in Paducah, but you can click on "Find Events" and maybe you'll find something closer.

If not, phone the Paducah office and talk to them.

GoBama!

:hi:

18. Google "democratic headquarters, name of your county"
& you should get a hit for your local dem headquarters. They will find all sorts of work for you to do! You can go to the headquarters office to work or sign up with your local precinct. I do canvasing & calling in my local precinct. No need to travel to the county seat to be effective! Fall in Colorado is beautiful & my husband & I enjoy getting out & walking the neighborhood.

Also, please consider volunteering to be an election judge on Election Day. In 2004 there was such an incredible turnout of voters, even with early voting, our county was grateful to have so many citizens also volunteer to be judges. It's a long day, but it is fun! I was placed in my own precinct so I saw my neighbors & made friends with other judges who also live in the area. Also, our county pays you for it -- about $200, IIRC.

2. I'm heading back home to Washington in a few weeks.. and the Obama office is my first stop!!!
Cannot wait!!! Glad to hear that others are finding this election THAT important. Palin energized the base alright.. OUR base!

Folks, get those stickers on the car today! The signs up, etc. We need visibility to counter that BS right wing talking point that we're struggling. They do it every GE. Let's show massive support out there!

7. Say 'hi' to the Washington sky and the Cascades for me and my family, would you?
We vote absentee in the state of WA, I'm thinking that it won't be too long until my ballot shows up. :) That's going to feel good to put that baby in the mail.

But, yeah, my husband is originally from Woodland, WA and he really misses it there.

11. Stop by WSU on the way and talk some sense into my nephew, would you?
I don't know quite how it happened, but he believes McCain (probably the POW stuff because Sean is really a big-hearted sweetie). He's even mentioned joining the National Guard in case he's needed to help protect Americans from the War on Terra.

I would hope that now being in college the atmosphere would be charged with Obama excitement, but I'm always cautious about Eastern Washington (we're from Seattle.)

13. I was just on a trip to Nelson BC and was driving through eastern Washington..I saw an Obama sign
nailed to a tree near Pend Oreille...it was about 30 feet off the ground so it wouldn't get torn off..but mostly I noticed a lot of Ron Paul signs, and lots of signs for local republican candidates and only one McCain sign.

But God love the Obama supporter!! (I'm surprised the sign wasn't riddled with bullet holes.)

10. There's actually a lot to do in blue states
We've been out every weekend getting voter registration forms filled out and encouraging people to vote, and people are also volunteering to travel to neighboring swing states to help out whenever possible.

20. I just returned from the Grand Opening of the Obama for Change
office in Waterville, Maine. It was wonderful to see so many volunteers and candidates. I have been canvassing and phone banking all summer for Obama, Tom Allen (running against Susan Collins for US Senate),as well as candidates for the US House and State Senate and House here in Maine. I am not even a Maine resident, but we spent 3 months in the state this summer and I knew I had to do my part. I found out where the closest Maine Democratic office was and drove there to find out what I could do. They were happy to have a volunteer, so you don't have to live in the state to be involved. Next week I will be returning to my home state of Florida, where I plan to continue volunteering doing whatever is asked of me. If I can do it, anyone can. It's exciting and the feeling of doing something worthwhile is wonderful. This is our country and we have to take it back. Don't expect others to do it for you. GET BUSY AND CALL YOUR DEM HEADQUARTERS AND ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY!!
