2. Awesome!! But I don't see any "big fat goofy looking guy in green" You must be mistaken..
;)

How COOL that you are in the front row!! What a huge crowd, too! Has the media been showing Obama's crowds at all lately? Cuz I know he's drawing thousands of people everywhere he goes.

7. Thanks for the photos, BlueDogDemocratNH; could you tell us about the experience of being there?
His speeches are so much more powerful when you're there. What a beautiful day it must have been.

9. Festive!
Downtown Manch Vegas had a buzz this morning, with the line to get into the park stretching for several blocks, alongside the civic center and behind the court house. Button and t-shirt vendors were selling swag to people waiting in line, the One Campaign handed out t-shirts, stickers, and beach bags, and volunteers from the Jeanne Shaheen for Senate were signing up supporters, while Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter's troops handed out flyers for an event they were holding later today.

Those of us on stage were chosen largely at random, believe it or not. We didn't see most of the "opening acts", but we were all in place when Obama arrived (late).

Once we were seated, I saw my younger brother and his girlfriend, in the crowd; they had decided to make the hour's drive from the Seacoast at the last minute.

Obama gave a good speech, with some feisty attacks on John McCain's descent into Rove politics.

Interesting to note that Obama did not have a teleprompter.

Joe Biden was originally supposed to appear as well, but the hurricane in Texas has the campaign scaling things down a little this weekend.

14. Obama rarely uses teleprompters and certainly not at rallies or townhalls (unlike the GOP ticket)
Thanks for the good-vibe report. Sounds like NH got a taste of the primary season, eh? Do you think NH will go for Obama?

10. Excellent pics, NH!
My sis and I were in Manchester to hear Kerry with about 15,000 other peeps on Nov 2, 2004 but I'm not sure where it was 'cause it wasn't set up all nice like this.

It was an extemporaneous rally.. Veteran's Park looks like an awesome place to rally:patriot: :patriot: Do you know what the crowd estimate was?

16. City Hall Plaza
You were at the rally with Sox GM Theo Epstein! I couldn't make that even (can't remember why), but my wife was there. Gore also had an event there in 2000. It's a sucky spot for a big rally. You're cramped into a parking lot in back of city hall, and the surrounding buildings create a vicious echo.

Veteran's Park is a great spot for a big rally. The park has a stage that's used for concerts and summer theater, there are a lot of restaurants nearby, and it's easy to find if you're coming from out of town, since it's next door to a big, honkin' 10,000 seat hockey arena.

even get to see Kerry, et all on the stage 'cause I was too far back and wasn't on stilts!

Thanks for the info..were there 15,000 approx at Obama's?

24. I'd guess about 7,000-8,000
A press riser blocked my view of the north side of the park (to your right as you face the stage), so there could have been more over there. I do know that there were people watching from Elm St. and Merrimack St., just outside the gates.

I would like to get each day's speech. I realize that he probably has a stump speech that he repeats sometimes, but still . . . . .
