Greenspan: Country can't afford McCain's tax cuts
Hahaha, McCain can't even get Greenie to sign on to his plan (or at least keep quiet about it)!

WASHINGTON - Alan Greenspan says the country can't afford tax cuts of the magnitude proposed by Republican presidential contender John McCain — at least not without a corresponding reduction in government spending.

"Unless we cut spending, no," the former Federal Reserve chairman said Friday when asked McCain's proposed tax cuts, pegged in some estimates at $3.3 trillion.

"I'm not in favor of financing tax cuts with borrowed money," Greenspan said during an interview with Bloomberg Television. "I always have tied tax cuts to spending."

2. NOW I get it!
The old fart just recently rechecked his figures and freaked out. He told Andrea that we were in a "nearly off the cliff" situation shortly before the Dem Convention..

Her work has been a bit more "reality based" since then.

11. It's a set-up so McCain can say he will cut wasteful govt spending.

Greenspan is a lying schmuck.

13. Exactly.
It was Greenspan's near-0% interest-rate policies for banks to borrow $$$ that fueled the current collapse of the world economy.

15. Greensuck is the suck, no doubt, but this could help because the average
low-info voter only knows that Greensuck is some kind of important economy dude.
