I was talking (as part of my job) with a guy who is involved with planning water projects for the UN. These are major, huge water projects costing many millions of dollars; his job is to help determine how to minimize environmental damage. As a part of his job, he has to travel all over the world to various regions of Africa, South America, and Asia.
He told me that so far, people in these places have not let their bewilderment and concern over American foreign policy spill over into hostility toward Americans... BUT, he said that if W wins the election, he believes that this will change, and people the world over will become angry, belligerent, and violent toward Americans. This could result in random violence directed toward any and all Americans within reach, in his judgment.
