Jill Biden chose a veterans' home on a hundred leafy acres as her main stop yesterday, during her inaugural day on the campaign trail in Iowa. She spent the afternoon with aging veterans at the Iowa Veterans' Home, in Marshalltown, central Iowa. As she toured the facilities, she had Iowa’s first lady, Mari Culver, on one side and her sister-in-law, Valerie Biden, on the other. They attended the most popular event at the facilities -- supper in the cafeteria. They spent a good amount of time with diners, lingering over dinner and conversation.

Jill talked with vets and their families about a range of topics, and their reception was warm and encouraging. At one point she was ceremoniously escorted to meet the man who had fought under General Patton. But for the most part, the visit was full of conversation and even some campaign strategy:

“I don’t believe the Republicans when they say ‘change,’ and ‘hope’ is something they don’t dare talk about...so come back at them with ‘hope, hope, hope’...how about ‘dare to hope’!”

6. as a woman I think Jill would be more appealing in a who'd-you-be-friends-with way
because she's comfortable with herself, friendly, open, genuine, etc.
