I Shut The $hithead Up At Work Today
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 05:31 PM by rsmith6621

Preface.....This guy who works in my office is in his mid 40s and has a voice like the late Harry Morgan(MASH) and since it is my last day tomorrow I decided to just let myself go.We both live in Florida

On With The Story...

The above guy this morning was sitting at his desk this morning spewing about Hurricane Ike and how he sat home most of yesterday glued to the weather channel and CNN....He babbled and spewed on for several minutes and then said the following "It was fun to sit there and watch peoples home rip apart and I really got a kick watching someone who had a trailer home awning rip of its supports and fly across the park" and his comments got worse...now this guy says neither McSame and Obama are qualified for president in fact he has said they are political twins but in November he will vote for McSame cause he says we cant have a Muslim in the White House.

Anyhow I decided to have some serious time fun with him and let him know that he can be heard clearly in the office, so I went to both candidates websites and printed off their plans for America and went to a site where you can find a list of the LIES that McSame has spoke. I also printed off stuff off of the Obama stop the smears website...At a particular moment this morning I grab the copies and went over to his desk and said basically "so you find it funny to watch peoples homes and lives destroyed by a storm" he said yes it makes for great entertainment...I said "Bill how are you going to feel when it happens to you would you like to know someone in Oregon take great joy watching you roof fly away" His eyes sunk to the back of his head at this point and he was quiet This is when I said maybe instead off spending time watching death destruction perhaps you should take the time to seriously learn about both McSame and Obama and make an educated vote your future depends on it...then I put the materials in his hands and walked away....he left for home about 30 minutes later.....

The rest of the day most everyone asked me if I was ok....I said how can you be alright with uneducated voter exercising their rights its kinda like a bicycle mechanic building an airplane does anyone get the picture now.

He doesn't seem like the type who can even sit through reading one page. I give you credit for trying though.

Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 05:38 PM by Better Today
only educated people should vote. Jim Crow laws come to mind. Bad choice, really bad choice. I like that you gave him the means to be educated, but that last sentence is not appropriate at all.

Better Today, I know what you mean, but I've never liked anything which sounds like a notice from ze Commisar. "Be careful"?

I'm tired of the IDIOCRACY. Has anybody seen the movie?

Not just the intellectual elite and the internet savvy.

9. to fix your analogy re: bicycle mechanic
A bicycle mechanic has every right to build an airplane, but he shouldn't be surprised when no one jumps on board.

Please don't disgrace the Democratic Party by spewing your rot.

25. Show me where that is stated, I don't see it....
That's why context is important and something Repubs don't see, they are quite myopic...anyway, he provided the information when he gave him the sheets, that indicates wanting an informed voter, not asking him to take an intelligence test to vote...

27. No...
Again, he gave him the materials and he wasn't saying don't vote he was saying he wasn't alright with it and he wanted to correct it...nothing about forcing people to prove they are informed enough to be able to vote...just asking that they at least try to do more than listen to commercials=inform oneself

Context...

It's like saying if you're pro-choice you must be pro abortion. You're uncomfortable with an uneducated voter voting, so it is your responsibility to see to it that he has every chance to educate him/herself.

I liked the fact you put the fellow in his place by pointing out it could be him the next time. And handing him the documents without preaching for Obama/Biden but rather simply saying to read and decide was brilliant! Bet others will look at the sheets out of curiosity.

One small quibble, though--Harry Morgan is still alive, according to wikipedia:

And he enjoys watching the lives of other being destroyed by hurricanes?

That was great. Putting a guy in his place about others misfortunes. This guy is scum.

One thing though...you might want rephrase your bicycle mechanic building an airplane line. The Wright brothers owned a bicycle shop and sold, built & repaired them for living.

34. LOL
I've been catsitting for friends who are in Hawaii, and borrowing some of their many DVDs. I've been watching MASH seasons 1 - 3 and even though Harry Morgan was not cast as Colonel Potter yet, he did show up as a nutty general in an early episode. OMG WHAT A HOOT! And I caught an old Dragnet episode this weekend - I remember thinking GAWD THAT HARRY MORGAN HAS BEEN AROUND FOREVER AND HE'S STILL KICKING!!! :D

Everyone knows someone like your co-worker, and they're always 5-10 decibels louder than your average human being even when speaking in a normal tone of voice. I guess ignorance seeks validation through volume.
