The MSM is showing a bit more guts than it did four years ago

While it is clearly treating Sarah Palin like a media queen, it's hard to dispute there's more media criticism of McCain's sleazy tactics than there was of Bush's 2004 sleazy tactics. I'm not saying that the major networks and newspapers are yet up to Edward R. Murrow standards while covering this campaign, but there is some improvement.

The reason? The past several years' worth of persistent and strong public criticism of the media by writers, bloggers, a few TV personalities (Jon Stewart, etc.) and just everyday people. Maybe the internet has accomplished some good after all. The nation has to keep it up.

1. Not really. Why would they give so much attention to a VP nominee?

There's only been a slight improvement.

4. They have their heads so far up Palin's ass
that they can't see daylight. I thought it has been ridiculous. They propped her up so far that no one is listening to any of the truths about her.

6. I can't disagree with you on how the media is kow-towing to Palin
Apparently, McCain is open to some scrutiny by the media, but Palin not nearly as much.

8. If they don't do their job...
They will just go away.

More people will turn to the Net for news in and formation.
