The NERVE of this man is...
Edited on Mon Sep-15-08 12:04 PM by YvonneCa
...unbelieveable!

I'm sitting here watching CNN cover nearly ALL of McCain's speech today (annoying in itself, seeing how they cut off Obama all the time) and I notice a familiar face in the audience...sitting in the very front, but shown on camera right behind McCain in close-ups. Who do I see? Jeb Bush, sitting next to Governor Crist of Florida.

That in and of itself shocked me...as I thought McCain was trying to distance himself from GW Bush. Apparently Jebbie is okay.

Then, the topper: McCain started complaining about problems in our economy. He said something like (paraphrasing) "We need to stop sending so much of our money to the Middle East." I think he mentioned actual amounts in billions to the audience. He may have even said going to Iraq, but I'll have to rewatch the tape to be sure. But he was complaining...in front of GWB's brother...about the US spending money that eight years of GWB's policies have caused us to spend.

As if he had nothing to do with it. As if Jeb had nothing to do with it. As if eight years of GWB had nothing to do with it. As if eight years of Republican policy in this country had nothing to do with it!

Now, I know he was probably trying to convince Floridians about why offshore drilling ('Drill, baby, drill' policy) is a good idea. But they are assuming the stupidity of the American people when they do this. It's disgusting...and they need to be called on it. Obama/Biden ??? :7

THE NERVE!!!! :patriot:

5. How does Drill, baby, Drill work when we all just saw 1 storm disrupt the
gas supply in the SE and cause panic and mass buying.. The barrel of oil slipped below $100.00, yet a storm caused the price to increase because of demand and the shut down of supply.. This drill thing is NOT going to work. We are seeing it NOT work right now. Why Dems cannot jump on these things is beyond me... I often wonder why the Democratic Reps and Surrogates made it to where they did, when we all seem to be MORE on top of issues than they are.

8. It doesn't. But I do think the Democrats and surrogates know...
...that. It's the people in the audience (in Florida and the TV audience) that must be sleeping...or worse...if this works.

9. Of course Jebbie is OK.
Scenario:
McCain/Palin win/steal the election.
McCain kicks off.
Palin elevated to Pres. Appoints Jebbie VP.
After 1st term, Palin steps aside, and VP Jebbie takes nomination for Pres.
Jebbie/____ win/steal the election.

11. Dont you find it funny...
...that weeks ago, when Obama would speak of the pathetic shape of the economy....the GOP was saying "We are so TIRED of the same ole speech...there's NOTHING wrong with the economy!" Its as if they saw the response Obama was getting and flip flopped...

Hmmm kinda like they saw the response Obama was getting from the slogan "Change"...and use that too...

I'm beginning to see a trend here... LMAO!!!

13. They can't run on the Republican record...
...because it is SO awful. They have no plan or new ideas. All they have is to attack, smear and co-opt Democratic ideas.
