To McCain: The Banking system's the nerve center of the economy. Our economy is fundamentally broken
In previous downturns at least we were able to say that our banks were in good shape and that was a good foundation for economic recovery. No one could possibly say with a straight face that our banks are in good shape now. The system will not totally collapse and bring about the end of the world, but it's pretty bad. It hasn't been this messed up in almost 80 years. At the same time the fundamentals of the typical American lifestyle are collapsing with dropping incomes, fewer jobs, and higher prices. What are these fundamentals?
