Obama's campaign had hoped to raise $200 million dollars to spend in the GE, and now with like 50ish days left that leaves him with like a $3 million dollar figure he has to earn every day to meet that goal.
Of course that number is a little bit unfair considering Obama's September numbers haven't been released yet, and the month is half over, so it's probably more like $2.5 million.
All we know about Obama's September fund raising is that he earned like $10 million dollars in one day after Palin got picked (or was it her speech at the convention?), and Obama has been asking for more money lately, showing he thinks he's falling behind his fund raising goals. I also read an article that tomorrow (Tuesday) he's expected to earn $9 million dollars at two LA fundraisers in just one night.
Those numbers we have for September so far are optimistic, if he can earn nearly $20 million dollars in just 2 days of the month, but he still has to earn over a million dollars every day to beat his largest fund raising record in a month (and he needs to to beat that $200 million dollar goal). Actually Obama probably needs to raise over $1.25 million a day to do that, or even $1.5 million to help push him closer to easily beating his $200 million goal in October and possibly getting over a quarter of a million dollars to spend in the GE if he's REALLY lucky.
