23. Just curious, but what on what do you base this claim?
I've seen some conflicting polls on this. One said people were OK with it by a large majority. Another said more people were saying it's going too far now by a slight majority.

24. Just anecdotal, not poll-based. I've talked to four people who have
voiced this attitude, the most recent one was the other day. He's 82, 'born a Republican,' but detests the religiosity bush has brought to the party and will not vote Repub for the first time in his long life.

I was wondering, after hearing that the bush twins gave a bad performance last night, (people said they were embarrassing, disrespectful of their entire family, mentioned Sex in the City) if some of the fundie base might not vote.

Remember in 2000, right before the election, the story of bush's history of drunk driving came out and (supposedly) many fundie voters were turned off and did not go to the polls.

6. Spit flying all over his fat head too, I'm sure!
He and John McCain need to marry! They play both sides better than anyone. They are worse than the out and out Pukes!

Next time I see a McCain or Tweety love fest on this board I am going to fucking lose it!

He's sort of politically bipolar, and I think he just blows these weird comments out of his butt. And sometimes his remarks are incredibly stupid and irresponsible -- but fortunately he's on cable, which has a teensy market share. I think sometimes we attribute way more much power and influence to these asswads than they actually have.

18. Only 800,000 this week-They've sunk again below CNN
In reality, they're both doing incredibly poorly. Even Fox, which has 2 plus million at the head of the pack is less than 1% of the population.

21. That's incredible
Surely a liberal news network like Al Gore's been working on would get a bigger share than that. I might even subscribe to cable for it. (Cable seems like such a huge rip off: $40 a month to watch commercials?)

14. What was the context of the statement?
I didn't see Hardball, and can't judge the nature of the comment without context?

Was it in relation to the shitstorm that Karl Rove is -- and will continue -- directing at Kerry?

Was it a prayer for Kerry's success?

Or was it a jeer at some Kerry comment, stance or political maneuver?

16. I didn't see it. What tone did he use.
He may have said it in a way like "God help us" by helping John Kerry. After being at the RNC for 2 days now he is probably really afraid of bushie being president for 4 more years.
