4. We wouldn't. Nor would we know no matter who is elected.
One doesn't have to be as old as McCain to come down with Alzheimer's or some other debilitating disease.

5. Whack his head open like a melon and take a tissue sample
I understand that is the only way to accurately determine if he has 'oldtimers disease'.

6. Compared to Bush, you mean? Or Regan?

But seriously, folks, as far as I'm concerned, McCain is showing symptoms of dementia NOW. My concern is not about his age, it's about his BEHAVIOR.

:evilgrin:

7. The debates will be hugely stressful for McCain and have the potential to allow his dementia
to shine forth for all of the huge viewing audience to see. Imagine him having a blank look, a deer in the headlights moment, or just being unable to answer simple questions or to gather facts together. There will be a first debate, but I wonder if McCain will withdraw from the others (because they were unfair, or that everyone picked on him and favored Obama).

9. We weren't told when Reagan developed Alzheimer's.
Why would McCain be any different?

12. Very true - we weren't told he was impaired until long after
it was too late to do anything about it. People suspected, but given how bad it apparently things were pretty well covered up.

16. Easy, Palin would invoke Amendment XXV, Section 4.
Amendment XXV

<snip>

Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
