1. I doubt I'd call it a battle
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 12:58 PM by Tarc
anymore than the annoyance I get at trying to swat a mosquito away is a "battle". :) This Ed O'Reilly guy will be lucky to crack 30%, and half of that will be from right-wing, Kerry-hating interlopers.

2. Glad to hear that, haven't paid much attention to that contest and
feel somewhat guilty.

3. And maybe some PUMA types (or even Clinton supporters who are still Democrats)
I know some diehard Clinton supporters in Massachusetts probably will vote for O'Reilly because they are mad that Kerry endorsed Obama in the primaries. Sounds lame, but if I were deciding in a primary between two good candidates then who they supported in the presidential primary might be a factor...one of the reasons my mom voted for Lautenberg in the NJ primary was because Andrews was a big Clinton supporter and we all supported Obama.

4. Can we drop the drama queen bullshit about PUMAs, please?
Jesus, they're being built up into the boogeyman to blame for any perceived ills that people fancy surround the Obama camp. A dip in the polls? PUMAs. Palin's momentary surge? PUMAs.

Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

5. Whoa, chill out. I said 'PUMA-types'
Not necessarily actual PUMA's. My point was that some Clinton supporters in Massachusetts might be inclined to vote against Kerry in the Senate primary because of his support for Obama. Chill out!

6. There aren't enough of them to make a difference.
The majority of MA is old, Irish/Italian Catholic, and doesn't give a shit about the primaries anymore. And that little shit O'Reilly can go straight to hell for wishing that no one would turn out.

9. Fact that Clinton supporters/electeds pushed through petitions to get O'Neill on the ballot.
That was then, so let's hope they aren't so stupid as to make O'Neill the winner. O'Neill is running around asking GOP to vote for him, or promoting if a low turnout he would win.

7. Ummm
in this case it wasn't drama queen bullshit. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/NO-WE-WONT/2008/08/04/NO-WE-WONT-PUMA-RADIO]">PUMA RADIO INTERVIEW WITH Ed O'Reilly That is exactly who Ed O'Reilly was going after because many in Massachusetts were mad at Kerry for endorsing Obama. If you knew anything about this sleazy candidate including siding with the swift boat liars, maybe you wouldn't have jumped so quick with the drama queen BS.

10. Isn't Kerry's opponent a progressive anti-war activist?
Or am I thinking of a different race?

I would vote for Kerry if I lived in MA, don't get me wrong. But I thought he was being challenged from the left.

11. "progressive anti-war activist"?
The guy is a fraud. He has no record of activism, except his opinion. In fact, he was tripped up on Iraq and then flip flopped. There is a reason the jerk hasn't endorsed Obama. He is clueless. Anyone who saw the debate between him and Kerry would know that.

12. Like I said, I don't know much about the race
Just saw something the guy posted on Kos once. I haven't lived in Massachusetts since I was 2 so I haven't really been paying attention. I just remember reading a while back that this guy was running to the left of Kerry but getting support from some disgruntled Clinton supporters to get on the ballot.
