I don't really have anything to cite, but I did get the sense that people were, to some extent, getting complacent and feeling that we had this in the bag. Ever since the GOP convention, however, people have been really fired up. Maybe it was a wake up call that needed to happen.

In a couple of days, Obama will be back "in the lead" as far as conventional wisdom is concerned. When that happens, I have a sense that we'll appreciate it much more and will fight tooth and nail to make sure it stays that way.

2. Election dirty tricks make this a very volatile outcome. People must confirm they're registered.
Not purged and bounced off. Some states tryong to convince students that if they vote at school, affect their tax status if a dependent-a lie.

3. having the momentum is huge, too
And that's tricky. If Obama can seize the big mo at the right time and hang on to it, we'll do well.

4. I thought so from the begining - now it will be a question of "who is losing their momentum"

Hopefully Obama will have a steady small 2 point a week increase. Small changes on a consistent basis are far better than a wild change.
