Memo to law enforcement investigators tracking down who broke into Sarah Palin's Yahoo email account: Gabriel Ramuglia might be a good place to start.

The 25-year-old webmaster and entrepreneur is the operator of Ctunnel.com (http://ctunnel.com/), the browsing proxy service used by the group that hacked into the vice presidential candidate's personal email account and exposed its contents (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/09/17/anonymous_hacks_sarah_palin/) to the world. While he has yet to examine his logs, he says there's a good chance they will lead to those responsible, thanks to some carelessness on their part.

"Usually, this sort of thing would be hard to track down because it's Yahoo email, and a lot of people use my service for that," he told El Reg in a phone interview. "Since they were dumb enough to post a full screenshot that showed most of the URL, I should be able to find that in my log."

Doesn't smell right. Or, they're not as smart as claimed.

If the anonymous who hacked her account is this easy to track down... that just means that her Yahoo! account password was just plain easy to guess. (Birthday of a kid, "JeebusLovesMe", whatever).

No worries though, it's not like the VP has any need to concern him/her self with silliness like security...

be hacked if the hacker is good enough, especially Yahoo's and Hotmails and the like. It is not a reflection on Palin's security capabilities, but rather Yahoo's

I hope like he** it was a puke operative trying a smear tactic. But whoever it was crossed the line and needs to be called on the carpet.

I say this cuz when I searched other provided links on Google, several refer to his email address of funkytown..and a few of those websites have his full name on them.

As of this writing (July 2001 to be exact) I have graduated from west anchorage high school in alaska and am planning to attend university of alaska fairbanks as a computer science major this fall. I have been accepted, and now all I really need to do is pack and turn in my housing application.... uh oh. Anywho, it should be sweet up at uaf since they have an oc12 line there (650 megabits of pure internet power). With this amazing connection, I will serve the videos that are to come on this site and also anything else I might think of doing with that much speed.

Most of us who work in the sector designing these systems know better then allow line of business applications to be so easily available on the internet.

How did he get such a fast headsup to this
considering that (as he claims)he has yet to track down
any evidence on his own server logs?
Who tipped him off?
