If I were governor and used a yahoo account for state business........
and it got hacked without my knowledge and screen-caps were taken of it i think it would at least show that i have drafted emails, sent emails and received more substantial emails than someone sending me prayers and asking me to pray for them.
there would be emails from party leaders and local and state officials. thats if it were me.

am i the only one who think that the screen-caps for 'that woman's' hacked email seem surprisingly sanitized for a woman who had just been named republican vice presidential nominee.

my mind is leaning with some of those looking for the rovian angle.
i thought of this listening to mccaint campaign complaints about what an invasion of privacy the governor has suffered.
after all, what hacker worth his reputation hacks into an already hacked email account only to change the password and notify that possessor of the hacked account. true hackers don't suffer such pains of conscience and tend not to be loyal to political parties. if i an wrong in this generalization, someone please correct me.
seems like a lot of explaining something all wrapped up too neatly in the name of anonymous. it has been said this is reminiscent of a leiberman tactic which in turn was an update of a rover dirty trick that implicated a political opponent in campaign espionage.

if i am not alone in the conspiracy theory that the mudslinger is loaded an ready check in here and lets make sure we are ready to throw it back at them

1. Most Businesses and Government Entities Prohibit Use Of Private E-mail for Company Business...
Due to trade secrets, record retention or security issues. However, some government employees, cough-Bush-cough, will conduct official business over private e-mail in order to avoid FOIA requirements.

3. i understand that
my supposition is that could it possibly be a Trojan horse by which to accuse the other sided of hacking a dummy email address to paint them as performing a high tech watergate.
the caps that i have seen don't say anything me that the email account belonged to a governor of a state.

4. back when I had a job I had to use mine a few times
and I was working for a government contractor.

Sometimes I would get attachments that were too large to get through my companies system--they would be cut off or truncated so I would have people send them to my personal account....

But that is me. Palin is a crook.

6. If there was ever a political celebrity that deserved to be in the same sentence with "Yahoo" ...
It would be the "runner-up" in the 1984 Ms. Alaska pageant.

7. I know a bit about the Hacker Community...
And REAL hackers don't break into a system to do damage, doesn't leave a trace behind to be followed

and certainly never brag about it in public.

Script-Kiddies,that's another matter but this story really doesn't feel right at all.

Where's the challenge in hacking a Yahoo mail account ? And all those squeaky clean messages

that fits the official image of Caribou Barbie?

Let's just say that I find all that suspicious but maybe I'm just paranoid.

11. i disagree about bragging rights
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 01:14 AM by iamthebandfanman
most 'hackers' kinda like being acknowledged, atleast in the community...

but you are right, a true hacker doesnt do his/her business with the intent to destroy anything...
if anything, they just want the excitement of finding a flaw...
alot of 'hackers' will tell the admins of a system they have gained access to and explain how it can be avoided in the future...

these free accounts are nothing to brag about, like you say prolly just some script kiddie running brute force or something...

the states exchange server woulda been the way to go if the person was experienced and doing it only to dig up dirt to screenshot..
which wouldnt be unethical, as you arent destroying, breaking, or gaining financially by taking screenshots
