Without reservation, I believe Joe Biden was the best choice for Obama
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 01:13 AM by BeyondGeography
Main reason: He's qualified to be President and he cares.

So much of life comes down to this: do you fucking care? Caring overcomes so many shortcomings. Caring throws identity considerations to the wind. Caring trumps geography. Caring towers over the occasional verbal misstep. Caring does NOT trump qualifications, but Joe Biden is arguably the most qualified running mate from either side of the aisle. So, inevitably, I come back to caring.

I favored Biden as the VP. I knew he would throw down. Is there a better political friend on earth to have than Joe Biden? I say NO.

1. He's just so perfect for the position on so many levels --
Obama was wise in his choice. And Obama cares, too -- that's why they're so well suited to one another.

7. I thought so all along.
I think so even more now.

Multi-talent is always a way to go.
Even if a tough foreign policy challenge occurred tomorrow, Joe would be ready for that too.
Plus, he knows John McCain......he knows where the demons are hiding.

9. That's a great point

Love how he calls him, "John," before he lowers the boom. The other great part about his McCain alerts is he gives the impression that he's letting us in on a deep, dark, secret. Truth is, we suspected it all along, but Joe seals the deal for us and, more important, for a lot of others who are still on the fence.

3. I agree but then I've always been a Biden fan
As I've been saying Biden is what is right about Washington and that's why he works as a change candidate. Give me a hundred Bidens and we have a Senate that is far from broken.

4. Biden was an exceptional pick. It's a pity the media doesn't cover him more but he is STELLAR
A++++++++ pick.

6. And on the personality side of things
they're both extremely likable. Obama's cool and steady, Biden's fired up and passionate. Contrast that with this:

10. He's really in touch with the people. He's a monster, self-depricating and cautious but so cutting
when the time comes. He's the best!

11. Personally I'm still not
convinced that Biden was the best choice, but he is the VP nominee, so any reservations no longer matter.

And no, I don't think it's very important who I think would have been a better choice. We all need to rally behind Obama and Biden as enthusiastically as we can.

12. Biden's campaign appearances so far have bloodied McCain's nose
without contact.

Joe's been laying out the case against McCain with hard facts and he frames his points in a very approachable style in a way that he persuades rather than preaches. He's smart and funny and persuasive.

He's been outstanding. And this campaign has drawn more focus on Jill, and she is just obviously an amazing partner for Joe. The two of them look like they're walking on air.
