4. Print it out, insert it into magazines, newspapers in waiting rooms or
leave it under the xerox machine after you make copies, phone directories or put in envelopes when you mail in your bills or other correspondence, take a roll of scotch tape and tape it into the bathroom stalls. ;)

9. STOP using big freaking words the public doesn't understand!
DELETE the last sentence in the first paragraph, and the third sentence in the second paragraph.

See how easier this reads:

STOP VOTING for people you want to have a beer with.
Stop voting for folksy.
Stop voting for people who remind you of your neighbor.

Vote for someone smarter than you.
Vote for someone who inspires you.
The stakes are high and they're terrifyingly real.
This election matters.
It matters.
It really matters.
Let me say that one more time.
This.
Really.
Matters.

If progressives would stop showing off their Ph.D's and their Readers Digest vocabularies, and talk the way normal people do, maybe their message might get across. (In fact, I'd eliminate the word "terrifyingly" in my edited version. THAT word is too big.)

10. Surge!
I know McCain resorts to simple one word sentences like "Surge!", but we don't have to. The Cooters out there are a lost cause. They respond better to the Neanderthal-like GOP chants of "Drill baby drill" anyway. This poster appeals to the Independent undecideds who can spell.

12. But maybe a third version...
I am amending my last comments. I've thought about it and can now see where you are coming from. BUT, I would hate "dumb down" Michael Seitzmam’s eloquent words for everyone. So I might put together a third version (your version) suitable for Republicans viewers.

13. I want EVERYONE to vote for Obama. Not just intellectuals.
I don't want to write off anyone. I'm sure a lot of pissed-off Democrats want to punish Bubba. It fuels their sense of Biblical justice. If there's anything I've learned at DU, it's that supposed progressives want their enemies to die by the sword in a flood of blood; screw their self-promoted pacifism.

But Bubba is still a human being. He shouldn't be put in the trash can along with his screwed-up beliefs. He needs to be enlightened. But first he needs to understand that people don't hate HIM, just his misjudgements.

18. Two syllables
Hate to tell you this, but you're going to lose the majority of them if you use words containing more that 2 syllables. Sad, but true. That's why edumakashon is so important!

20. The "brainless" voted Bush into office. DUUUUUH!
So either you are saying "go out and kill the people who won't vote your way", or "show a little respect for people as people, even if you don't think they're as smart as you." Which one of those more closely follows Democratic ideals?

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people on DU would make the wrong choice. You seem to be heading that way.

You're extrapolating a whole lot out of what was intended to be a simple statement. We've been dumbing down this world for years, and look at where it has gotten us. So yes, let's keep talking like fools to fools. That has worked brilliantly so far. :eyes:

21. Duplicate post, but let me use this place to say...
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 04:04 PM by tomreedtoon
...that you guys have been so abused and so misused over the last two dozen years that I can understand you being bitter. And wanting to walk the streets with a shotgun to kill anyone who doesn't subscribe to The Nation or one of those hoity-toidy rags.

Me, I like to think that everyone has good inside him. Even my car mechanic, a Vietnam vet who thinks Jane Fonda runs the Democratic Party and who wants to go back and kill all those yellow-skinned monsters who killed his friends.

If you had a little more understanding of human beings, instead of blind hatred, you might be an example of Christian ideals - especially to all the Christians and preachers who don't have Christian ideals.

15. Are you out of your mind?
Why on earth would we want someone like that running the country, leading the "free world"? Meeting with world leaders? Representing us abroad? Tackling the biggest problems in this country?

16. Not my words... Thanks Michael Seitzmam!
I want to be very clear. These are NOT my words. They were written by Michael Seitzmam in an article called "Sarah Palin Naked".

As I stated on my own blog post, I was so inspired by them and I wanted everyone to read them. That's what lead to to making the PDF posters.

So again, I encourage everyone to pass these words along somehow (print the PDF, post the graphic to your blog, Facebook or MySpace). And remember to thank Michael Seitzmam!

Thanks Michael!

17. vote for someone smarter than you
well, that is difficult for most of us here, but I think Obama, Biden, Clinton, Gore, Ms. Clinton, Kucinich are all smarter than me and I have no problem supporting their party. W, McCain, Palin are all dumber than most of us here, though I think they are smarter than most of the people that vote for them.
