WHITE WOMEN GONE WILD!!!!
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 08:38 AM by dmsRoar
Obama leads 47-45% among white women voters, up 8% in 1 (ONE) week. As we all know from listening to MSM after McImpulse's one-night stand with Palin, this is the new only-voting-bloc-that-matters.

22. me too, back in Kentucky. Our high school used them for all in school elections too
in order to get us accustomed to using them when we became 18 and could do the real deal (in KY 18 yr olds could vote from about 1953 or something)

3. Is that the racist white women or
perhaps the ones that hadn't made up their minds yet? Maybe it's the ones that wanted to see just what McCain had to offer them and now that they see it's just more of the same they are ready to vote for change.

4. It is an interesting dynamic....
last night while phone banking, I spoke with a mid 50's aged woman...
who, in answer to who she was supporting for President, gleefully proclaimed "Palin"
She was literally giddy. Said she knew she was running for VP, but that didn't matter to her
For her, Palin was the end all, be all. Said she would have voted for Hilary,
that she was a bra burning feminist for whom it was essential a woman was close to the WH.

the confusing part to me, when asked about our close governor's race, in which the incumbent is a woman...
she said she did not know if she would vote for her because of the state debt which has been widely advertised by her opponent

7. Real feminists
don't call themselves bra burners anyway. Some people (male and female) will always vote with their emotions rather than their intellect.

I'm just getting tired of women being taken to task here. Plenty of old white men voted for Bush, and will vote for McCain.

11. Point taken, but there's also the common saying by Democratic women...
That if women were in power there wouldn't be any wars. This election year nicely demonstrates the falsity of such glorfied views of women. They're just as capable of being jackasses as men are.

15. Point taken...
...except you didn't hear that old women/war thing from me. All I said was that real feminists don't use the "bra-burner" expression, and that stupid people vote Repug.

19. Or, you could listen to "Margaret on the Guillotine" by Morrissey
The kind people
Have a wonderful dream
Margaret On The Guillotine
Cause people like you
Make me feel so tired
When will you die ?

And people like you
Make me feel so old inside
Please die

And kind people
Do not shelter this dream
Make it real
Make the dream real
Make it real

21. It's even better than 8 points (as you said in the OP)--It's 21 percentage points!!!
According to the table on page 3 of your pdf link, between
the 9/8 and 9/12-16 surveys, Mccain lost 8 percentage points
among white women, while Obama gained 13 percentage points:

CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT (Among White Women [Registered] Voters)
. . . . . . . . . . 9/8/08 . . 9/1/08 . .8/20/08 . . 8/6/08
. . . [9/12-16/08]. Post-Rep . Post-Dem* .Pre- . . . .Early
. . . . .Now . .. . Convention Convention Conventions August
Obama .. 47% . .. . 34% . .. . 43% . .. . 38% . . . . 38%
McCain . 45 . . . . 53 . . . . 43 . . . . 43 . . .. . 42
Undecided 7 . . . . 12 . . . . 10 . . . . 15 . . .. . 17
*This poll was conducted after the selection of Sarah Palin
as John McCains running mate.

(I added the word "Registered" and the interview
dates "9/12-16" for clarification).

And the 9/8 CBS/NY Times results above are consistent with
9/10-11 results from the Newsweek poll online at
