Is there any possibility that "bittergate" might come back into play?
I heard Palin refer to Obama's off-the-cuff "bitter" comments from the primary in one of her stump speeches (was it in her acceptance speech too?) the other day and trying to remember how Obama explained/clarified that statement and wondering if or how McSame/Palin might use those comments against Obama and how that might affect the race. Anybody remember how he dealt with it at the time and anybody have any thoughts about how effective it would be against Obama if McSame/Palin try to make it a larger issue?
5. They've already played that card, as well as the Ayers card
and they will draw the Wright card before the end of October--but hopefully, this move will be so telegraphed and so anticipated that people will go "That's it? That's ALL you've got?"
It provides an excellent excuse for the antipathy felt toward Obama - a "socially acceptable" way to oppose a guy who looks like him. A way for bitter people to feed their persecution complexes.
Yeah, it will be back, especially in PA and OH. Watch for it on a TV near you.
9. Hillary did Obama a favor by getting that all out there
Seriously. All this shit is played out. It may solidify opposition to Obama among the GOP base, but nobody gets turned around or even pointed in X direction over 6 month old attacks.
The utter weakness of McCain's attack campaign demonstrates this: he has nothing left but dregs of culture war nonsense, and that stuff isn't sticking.
