Palin: "I certainly didn’t mean to hurt his feelings. Didn’t mean to offend any community organizer"

http://thepage.time.com/gov-palin-on-thursdays-hannity-and-colmes/

Gov. Palin on Thursday’s “Hannity and Colmes”

“I certainly didn’t mean to hurt his feelings. Didn’t mean to offend any community organizers either.

I do have respect for those who have chosen public service. What I was doing certainly, should be obvious, was direct a comment to him as he had taken a shot at small mayors across the nation.

Small mayors, mayors of small towns, quote unquote. They’re on the front lines, they’re held accountable every single day that they’re in office, with real responsibilities that do demand that accountability and invite accountability.”

1. Boy, she does have a big ego if she thinks her petty
little comment could hurt Barack's feelings. I think that he has probably had much worse thrown his way in the past.

2. Palin is such a smarmy, arrogant prick.
And I don't recall Obama taking a shot at small town mayors.

4. How I hate and detest her. She reminds me of this RW fundie
acquaintance I had in college. He told me he thought all homosexuals should be "burned to death." When he was called on the statemnet, he said, "Oh, I was joking." I did not pick up the joking vibe when he said it.

16. This is the reasonable answer by Obama...
...which right-wing commenters have twisted into an atack on Sarah Palin:

http://www.bigmouthfrog.org/2008/09/02/cnn-video-anderson-cooper-obama-experience-vs-sarah-palin/

CNN’s ANDERSON COOPER: “And Senator Obama, my final question, some of your Republican critics have said you don’t have the experience to handle a situation like this. They’ve in fact said that Governor Palin has more executive experience as mayor of a small town and as governor of a big state of Alaska. What’s your response?”

OBAMA: “Well, my understanding is that Governor Palin’s town of Wasilla has I think 50 employees. We’ve got 2,500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year. You know, we have a budget of about three times that just for the month. So I think that our ability to manage large systems and to execute I think has been made clear over the last couple of years.”

Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 10:33 AM by ErinBerin84
This person is hilarious. All that Obama was responding to was a question on CNN about implications Obama didn't have executive experience, while Palin DID...Obama noted the number of people and employees involved in his campaign that he runs, compares to the number of employees that Palin's town had. Yes, she is very talented at lying with ease.

You're a sadistic, religiously insane hypocrite.

And I MEAN to hurt your feelings--if you even have any.

19. no kidding.
And can you imagine what Republicans would say if Democrats said about Palin having "hurt feelings"? They would cry sexism...they will consantly emasculate Obama and make him look "effete", yet complain about sexism in reference to questions about Palin's qualifications and record.

10. Obama said his campaign has a bigger budget than Wasilla,
...in response to a question from Anderson Cooper about his executive experience vs. Palin's.

That isn't taking a shot; it's answering a question reasonably.

15. Ugh, one of those non-apologies.
It's basically saying "sorry that your feelings were hurt" and pushes all the blame on the person who's offended rather than the offender. It's that blaming the victim mentality, which probably explains why upon becoming mayor of Wasila, she fucking fired the incumbent police chief to hire the current chief who then proceeded to start charging rape kits to rape victims in the one Alaskan town with the most meth and rapes. Yeah, she's ready to be Vice President. :sarcasm:

She's a thin-skinned slimebucket with an overinflated self-opinion.

She's just pissed because he gave a rapid-response dismissal a while back.

She has a pretty clear pattern of vindicitiveness. I believe the original account of her reaction to the SNL skit, where they said she DID watch (and listen) and sniped that she dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween. And she didn't say it in front of a camera in a nice way.

31. She got one thing right -- she should be held accountable for her time as Wasilla mayor.
Edited on Thu Sep-18-08 10:43 AM by DemsUnited
Held accountable for charging Wasilla rape victims for forensic exams while using city funds to pay $50,000 to redo her office, $24,000 for her SUV, and $50,000 a year for a deputy to do her job for her.

Held accountable for leaving Wasilla with in debt and mired in legal problems.

Held accountable for illegally using Wasilla resources to campaign for Lt. Governor in 2002.

Feel free to add.

32. No, she meant to pander to the idiots who disdain community organizers.
Hurting Obama's feelings, or those of community organizers, wasn't on the radar of whoever wrote the damned speech for her. However, whatever respect she has for community organizers is miniscule, and will continue to evaporate when the chance to sloganeer arises.

"real responsibilities."

So she's still dismissing it. And on what basis? That is doesn't help one climb in one's career?

and it does involve real responsibilities. They just aren't real to self centered dimwits like her.
